The Palestinian Prisoner Maher Al-Akhras

• Born in Silat Al-Dhahr village, Jenin, in 1971. He is married and a father of six.
• The Israeli occupation arrested him on 27 July 2020, and transferred him to administrative detention without charges.
• Prisoner Al-Akhras has been on an open hunger strike for over 90 days, protesting his administrative detention.
• He is held at the Kaplan hospital after his health deteriorated and he lost half of his weight.
• Prisoner Al-Akhras spent a total of 5 years in the occupation’s prisoners, where he was held in solitary detention and subjected to human rights violations.
• Administrative detention is a violation of international laws and prisoners’ accords
